Goyal not co-operating, say sleuths

NEW DELHI: Indian intelligence agencies and Enforcement Directorate are frustrated with their investigations against Jet Airways chief Naresh Goyal because of two issues: lack of cooperation from Goyal and inability to find how massive amounts of money flew into his two accounts in Isle of Man through the 1980s.

Goyal has refused to cooperate with Enforcement Directorate as late as a few months back, after it began investigations against Jet on the basis of a reference from the ministry of external affairs. Goyal, claiming his legal protection as an NRI, refused to discuss in detail his financial details, according to sources.

The ministry of external affairs made the reference to ED based on detailed queries from the US State Department last year regarding Goyals alleged underworld links.

Raconteurs Announce NYC Show, Single Details

Jack White's boy band the Raconteurs have announced a whopping one-date American tour, which will begin and end on April 7 at New York City's Irving Plaza. Whoa, slow down! You don't want to overexert yourself, man.

The show will be the White/Brendan Benson/Greenhornes supergroup's first American appearance. It follows a brief string of UK dates, including a gig in Scotland which White allegedly played dressed in full Scottish regalia, kilt and all.

Tailing the Raconteurs' big stateside debut by, oh, four months, is a stop at Lollapalooza 2006.

This is the big time:

04-07 New York, NY - Irving Plaza
08-04 Chicago, IL - Grant Park (Lollapalooza)

Both shows will be in support of the Raconteurs' debut album Broken Boy Soldiers, slated to hit shelves May 16 via Third Man Records/V2 in both CD and deluxe gatefold vinyl formats.

Previewing the 2006-07 Season, Part 16: ABC's 'Big Day'

Please note: As a courtesy, please do not reproduce these comments to newsgroups, forums or other online places. Links only please.

With the official start of the 2006-07 season less than three months away, the drumbeats have begun by the networks to tout their new comedies and dramas. What should you keep your eye out for? What should you avoid at all costs? While it's still a little early for full reviews (some recasting and reshooting will be done on a good chunk of them), we thought we'd spend the next month or so previewing what's in store for the upcoming season. Each day we'll look at one of the 39 new series set to premiere this season and go over our initial impressions after viewing the pilot.

There's no particular order here, just whatever's next on the stack of tapes.

MANX OUTSOURCES SMS TO TYNTEC

(www.manx-telecom.com) to provide the Isle of Man operator with an outsourced SMS solution. Under the deal TynTec will provide an outsourced SMS-centre to manage all of Manx's incoming and outgoing large account SMS activity, such as, high volume international SMS reception and SMS routing.

Manx Telecom has had in the past no large account SMS capability, instead offering only basic person to person SMS functionality. To expand their system to manage issues such as high traffic loads and long number reception would have required a costly and time consuming upgrade to the existing SMS-C. Instead, by outsourcing the role as a managed service on TynTec's established proprietary SMS-C infrastructure, Manx is able to offer full, large account SMS functionality with a fraction of the upfront investment.
